Tell me a little about yourself
My career started in the non profit world focusing on vulnerable populations including foster care, adoption services and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. My next career move was into the corporate world first as a care manager for health coaching, then as a care manager for Social Services, a consultant for the clinical program and then most recently an Associate Director of Care Management Operations. My move into a corporate space has helped me support another vulnerable population, older adults with chronic illnesses. I have three teenage daughters, a wonderfully supportive husband and devoted labradoodle named Sadie. We live in St. Pete, FL and love all activities outside in the sunshine.
What made you support or work with Connected Consultants?
Over the past 10 years, I have had so many experiences that have formed the leader I am today. Working with Connected Consultants allows me the opportunity to share that knowledge and help improve the experiences of employees everywhere.
Why should someone take your course?
Knowledge. Taking my course allows employees to continue to grow professionally, emotionally, and mentally. There are so many facets to be an employee at a company. My courses focus on a holistic approach to teaching, training and growing employees.
What are you learning right now?
Right now I am learning more about inclusion and diversity best practices. I am reading, listening and exploring this next iteration of I&D in the workplace. Changes needed to be made in the workplace and now is the time.
What’s one fun or interesting fact that people don't know about you?
One interesting fact that people don’t know about me is that I wanted 5 kids! Fortunately I have one beautiful daughter, two beautiful bonus daughters and 7 nieces and nephews.
Give your younger self one piece of career advice?
If I could tell my younger self one thing, it would be to have courage. Courage is the virtue that allows us to grow as people and as leaders. It allows you clarity into making hard decisions and strength to follow through on those decisions. It supports you during hard conversations and ensures that your steps are grounded in positive intent. It allows you to move forward after making mistakes and learning from those opportunities.
